Just over six weeks ago we welcomed Jaxon Taylor Dove into the world. My sister-in-law Julianne found out she was pregnant just a few months after I did. With all the uncertainty and excitement that comes with first-time pregnancies, going through this together was truly a godsend.

Until I had Dakota, I didn’t realize how massive, generous and immensely supportive the motherhood community is. There’s an unspeakable bond between mothers — a genuine heartfelt congratulations upon news of a new baby, a silent acknowledgement as you pass each other in the store, an ever-revolving door of advice and encouragement.

For Julianne and me, this started before our babies were even born. Designing our nurseries, culling through thousands of baby product reviews, and navigating the birth plan process were all made easier by the shared experience — an experience that will last a lifetime.

We cannot wait to watch our babies grow, learn and play together. We also couldn’t wait to snap a few cute pics of the two decked out their sweetest matching VONbon harem leggings, slouchy beanies, and bibs. Dakota and Jaxon are already getting along famously.
