About a week ago I started taking the girls for little outdoor adventures away from our neighborhood. We’re learning to loosen the reigns so that the girls can continue to experience life while also remaining safe. So far that includes empty (or sparse) trails, parks and playgrounds.
We’re lucky to live near the water where a ten minute drive puts the girls hands in the sand, toes in the water, and sunshine on their giggling faces.
Dakota is no stranger to Jonas and Anne Catharine Green Park, a quaint little waterside park just outside of downtown Annapolis. However, it’s been so long since we’ve been she’d forgotten all about it.
To watch both girls’ excitement at the prospect of another picnic lunch with a view is pure magic. Nora loves to announce each new boat sailing by while Dakota gets lost in a world of make believe, digging in the sand and dreaming up stories of pirates, crabs and sea creatures. At one point she even had Nora running scared, convinced a boat was coming to crash into us!
